Vocabulary - Teaching vocabulary to foreign language students is vital to language acquisition. Vocabulary instruction affects students ability to participate in both social and academic routines. Words allow speakers to extend their understanding of the world around them. In addition, words allow access to completely new worlds. Whatever a student’s achievement level in a particular area of study, be it minimal, moderate, or advanced, vocabulary instruction will also promote further learning.

Throughout the year, students will be learning many new vocabulary words; some from the textbook, some from the chapter books, some from music, and others from context. In this page we are going to keep an ongoing, year around, vocabulary list.

Rules:
- Keep the vocabulary list in alphabetic order
- Write the Spanish word first in bold
- Write the article of the word in parentehis after the word -- example: boleto (el) - ticket
- After listing the word write where it came from -- example: boleto (el) - ticket (unit 1 lesson1)
